Before watering
Healthy potting mix is already a habitat. Living roots and the surrounding soil form a connected root zone before Noot is added.
Mix with water
Measure one teaspoon of Noot per half gallon of water. Mix before watering and follow the directions on your current product label.
Water the plant
Water the potting mix evenly and allow excess water to drain. Frequency and amount depend on the plant, container, and growing conditions.
Into the root zone
Living roots release sugars and other carbon compounds called exudates into the surrounding soil. These compounds help shape the microbial neighborhood.
A living network
Bacteria gather near roots. Mycorrhizal fungi form branching connections around compatible living roots; establishment takes time and depends on conditions. Noot's six fungal strains include mycorrhizal fungi and the separate fungus Trichoderma harzianum.
The whole ecosystem
Plant carbon supports fungal partners, which can transfer nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen toward the root. Organisms are enlarged and time is compressed in the illustration; these processes are not instantaneous.
Growing together
With suitable light, water, nutrients, and growing conditions, new leaves develop above the soil while roots explore the potting mix below. The animation illustrates relationships, not a guaranteed result or timetable.
